Freeze Frames

On Thursday our class did drama, in drama we did freeze frames. A freeze frame is when you freeze in a position to show a story. We had to do four freeze frames to show different fairy tales. We did it in small groups of 4 - 8. In our group was Harrison, Joshua, Harry, Keegan and Kes.We did Peter Pan. In the first photo Harrison (left) is Captain Hook is having a sword fight with Joshua (right) Peter Pan. In the second photo Captain Hook is near the edge of the boat. The third photo shows Peter Pan stabbing Caption Hook. " It was pretty painful for me but it was fun doing drama" said Harrison. " It was pretty fun but it wasn't painful for me" said Joshua. We think Kes did a great job of being Tinkerbell.

Andy Warhol Art

This is my Andy Warhol picture of a Kiwi. First I chose my favourite bird then I sketched 2 pictures of Kiwi's. I chose my best sketch and I duplicated it onto a big piece of paper 4 times. Then I dyed the background 4 different colours and waited for it to dry. Then I dyed the Kiwi's, we had to be careful that the eyes, beak, and feet were different colours than the body. I ended up with the 4 colours in each square. I found drawing the pictures hard but it got easier and easier. I like my finished Kiwi picture!

Cross-country

Yesterday Thorndon school had their Cross-country. We had to walk to the Botanical garden and we had the Cross-country there. Room3 and 4 ran at the same time. I got lost with a few other people. I almost came last but at the finish line everyone was cheering for me, including the parents. It was really fun! When we got back to school it was lunch time.

Karori Wildlife Sanctuary

We went to the Karaori Wildlife Sanctuary on Tuesday. We saw a Kingfisher and we were the closest class to ever be to a Kingfisher. I thought that it was pretty cool. We had to open six different boxes and remember what the most popular birds. They are the Fantail, Tui and the Gray Warbler. We had morning tea there and we got close up to a Saddle back. The Saddle back was black and red. I would go there again!
